Black Friday in Seattle

November 26, 2010 in Lynnwood, Seattle This Month

The day after Thanksgiving, known of course as Black Friday, has long been THE premier shopping day of the year, Seattle being no exception.  It was a day this year when hopeful merchants opened their doors even earlier than usual, in fact some started at 10 p.m. last night and stayed open all night.  Some reports are in that consumers spent more here in the Seattle area and for a greater variety than last year.  They are still on a budget, but this year that budget includes some luxury items and some shopping for themself as well as that carefully researched shopping list.

Here is a scrapbook of our Seattle Black Friday shopping trip to Alderwood Mall. Sorry that unlike a really committed photojournalist I didn’t get out there at 5 in the morning to catch the sea of faces lining up to get in.  These were taken after 1 p.m. when the intreped Door Opener crowd was winding down and the rest of us stopped by to share in a little of the action and get wonderful bath towels and cameras and games and you name it for great prices.
